Mental Health First Aid - March 27 and 28, 2025

 

Registration closes on March 7, 2025.

The Mental Health First Aid Standard course will help you learn how to recognize signs that a person may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health crisis and encourage that person to:

  • Talk about declines in their mental well-being
  • Discuss professional and other supports that could help with recovery to improved mental well-being
  • Reach out to these supports
  • Assist in a mental health or substance use crisis

This course is for adults interacting with adults, and no prior mental health experience is necessary.

Mental Health First Aid Standard consists of one 2-hour online self-directed module and two 4-hour in-person sessions.

Module 1

  • Independent Study Module and review of the digital Participant Reference Manual
  • Online
  • Approximately 2 hours
  • Due March 21, 2025

Module 2 and 3

  • Two 4-hour in-person sessions
  • CMHA WW, 737 Woolwich St, Guelph
  • Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 9:00am-1:00pm
  • Friday, March 28, 2025 from 9:00am-1:00pm

Please note that you are required to:

  • Complete Module 1 in order to participate in Modules 2 and 3.
  • Be present for the entire course in order to receive a certificate.

Registrants will receive an email with details to access and complete the online self-directed module, along with your Participant Reference Guide and course materials, on March 10, 2025.
